Larry and I painted last month in the Massachusetts Horticultural Society's plein air event "Paint!" and are looking forward to going to the auction this Saturday night. Over 40 artists descended on the Horticultural Society's grounds at Elm Bank and the surrounding area on September 20th and 21st and most have donated 2 paintings each to be auctioned off this Saturday to benefit the Society's educational programs.

The paintings can be viewed at the Hunnewell Building at Elm Bank today, tomorrow and Saturday and will be auctioned this Saturday night October 20th.

The top two paintings (seen abave) are Larry's "Church at South Natick" and "Library at South Natick" and the bottom two are my "Tending Weezie's Garden" and "Charles River Coffee House" which will be in the auction on Saturday.

"Surf Walkers" Award

Yesterday, Larry and I went to the opening of Exhibition II at the North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester where this painting, "Surf Walkers" received the Beverly A. DeMont Memorial Award. It was a glorious day by the shore, the coolish dry Canadian air a relief after last weeks heat wave. The new show and the sculpture exhibit are well worth a visit.
